Yesterday we got a morsel of an update about Disney Adventure - the introduction of Imagination Garden, the gorgeous open-air atrium area of the ship, and one of the seven theme-d areas of the ship. Planted within the garden, guests will discover a state-of-the art theatrical stage, two tasty quick-service eateries, an alluring bar and a selection of garden-view staterooms.
An Adventure through your Imagination
The beautiful open-air garden is themed after a pop-up storybook, with paper cutout style landscapes and decorative foliage of shaped topiaries, tall trees, cascading vines, and blossoming flowers. Have a look around and see if you can find all the Easter Eggs and nods to our favourite Disney, Pixar, and Marvel stories!
On one end of the garden the Garden Stage will sit, where guests can sit in amphitheatre type seating to watch live entertainment - like the Avengers Assemble! Show, an action-packed signature show starring Marvel Super Heroes and Villains! Get ready to witness first-hand the unbelievable powers of Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, Thor, Black Panther, The Scarlet Witch, Ms. Marvel, Loki, Red Skull, Taskmaster and more. And don’t forget Deadpool, who will be joining the line up onstage for the first time ever on a Disney ship!
Continuing through the space, a sweeping “lawn” area is flanked by two dining experiences, leading up to the Grand Staircase, framed by adorned arches and leafy branches with hanging lanterns. At the top of the Grand Staircase, you’ll find a beautiful courtyard, surrounded by lofty trees, designed to look like storybook cutouts with some of your favourite animal friends! Don’t miss the beautiful topiary of Sorcerer’s Apprentice Mickey Mouse with his wand held high as if he is conjuring the garden to life in front of your eyes.
Above the courtyard, standing three decks high will be a stunning storybook castle showpiece. This beautiful artwork is inspired by castles, both real and imagined, from Disney stories and theme parks across the globe. Look closely to find nods to the Walt Disney Pictures castle, Sleeping Beauty’s castle at Disneyland Paris and Rapunzel’s castle, as well as influences from sketches done by legendary Disney artists such as Herbert Ryman, Frank Armitage and Eyvind Earle. The Disney Imagination Garden castle will sit above a decorative waterfall surrounded by a wave motif to celebrate Disney Cruise Line’s first castle at sea.
A brand-new room type
Disney Adventure will be the first Disney Cruise Line ship to feature internal balcony rooms - called Garden View staterooms! These rooms will have a balcony that looks over the Imagination Garden, giving guests unmatched views!
Food for the whole family
Disney Imagination Garden will be home to two quick-service eateries inspired by the animated worlds of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ The Jungle Book and Moana. With options for indoor and outdoor seating at both locations, guests who opt to dine on either patio will also have a view of the Garden Stage to enjoy that day’s entertainment.
Mowgli’s Eatery – Serving Indian cuisine, including vegetarian and regional dishes with a special Disney twist, this casual eatery will be inspired by Mowgli’s epic journey in “The Jungle Book.”
Gramma Tala’s Kitchen – This inviting quick service restaurant will be inspired by the vibrant scenery and island flair of “Moana” with an imaginative menu showcasing the diverse flavours found throughout the Pacific and Asia.
While we still don’t have information on the sailings or costs, I’m loving the bits and pieces we’ve been fed so far. How about you?! As more details are announced I’ll have them here and on my socials. Click the banner below to sign up to my Disney Adventure mailing list as well.
