Disney Closure updates

Due to the COVID-19 health situation that has rocked the world, many public spaces were forced to close, including theme parks and resorts. Below are updates on the Disney parks and resorts. We will update this page as new information is shared.


Disneyland Resort Update Banner

On 24 June 2020, Disneyland Resort announced the phased reopening of the resort will begin with the Downtown Disney precinct on 9 July. However, the opening of the hotels and parks have been delayed and an opening date will be announced at a later date.

Walt Disney World Update Banner

Theme Parks

On 27 May 2020, Disney put forth their plan to begin the reopening of their Walt Disney World theme parks. Pending approval, the phased reopening will begin with Magic Kingdom Park and Disney's Animal Kingdom on 11 July 2020, followed by EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios on 15 July 2020. There is no current information on opening dates for Disney's Blizzard Beach or Disney's Typhoon Lagoon.


Disney Springs

As of 20 May 2020, most of Disney Springs is now open to the public. Strict health and safety guidelines are being enforced, such as temperature screening, mandatory face masks, thorough cleaning procedures, limited numbers and social distancing. Disneyland Paris Update Banner

As of 22 June 2020, Disneyland Paris has announced its plans to reopen. The phased reopening will begin with Disneyland Park, Walt Disney Studios, Disney's Newport Bay Club hotel and Disney Village on 15 July 2020. Tokyo Disneyland Update Banner

On 25 June 2020, Tokyo Disneyland announced plans to reopen Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea on 1 July 2020. For more information, visit the Tokyo Disneyland website.


As of 16 June 2020, Hong Kong Disneyland announced their plans to reopen the park on Thursday 18 June 2020, with reduced capacity, and strict social distancing and hygiene guidelines. All guests entering the park will need to have a temperature check and wear face masks. They will also have a new reservation system to reserve tickets for specific days. Shanghai Disneyland Update Banner

On 11 May 2020, Shanghai Disney began it's phased reopening and is now open for limited numbers of guests. For more information on the phased reopening, visit the Shanghai Disneyland website.


Aulani Resort Update Banner

As of 28 May 2020, Aulani - A Disney Resort & Spa is still closed to the public. Currently, there is no reopening date published. For more information, visit the Aulani - A Disney Resort & Spa website.


Disney Cruise Line Update Banner

As of 28 May 2020, Disney Cruise Lines have cancelled all sailings through to 27 July 2020 and they are monitoring the situation closely. For more information, visit the Disney Cruise Line website.


As of 28 May 2020, Disney’s Vero Beach Resort and Disney’s Hilton Head Island Resort are expected to begin welcoming Members and Guests home on June 15. All Disney Vacation Club properties at Walt Disney World Resort are expected to reopen shortly thereafter on June 22. Reopening dates for The Villas at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa as well as Aulani, Disney Vacation Club Villas, Ko Olina Hawai’i have not been determined. Adventures by Disney Update Banner

As of 28 May 2020, Adventures by Disney have cancelled all departures through to 31 July 2020 and they are monitoring the situation closely. For more information, visit the Adventures by Disney website.
